My allergies have been smacking me in the head lately, if I want to get rid of my snots and sinus headache, I have to take a decongestant. The decongestant makes me drag and sometimes I have to take an afternoon nap or go to be early. There's no winning solution, you just have to put up with it some times of the year.
Yesterday, I did the farmer's market as usual from 7 a.m. until 11:30ish, and after a rest in the AC with a 30 minute Boo-permitted nap, I took the 400 pounds of planting soil and the five wire cages a friend helped me put together, and lined them with landscaping fabric, and here's some cukes in their happy home under the end of the clothesline. They can climb on that structure, with a little help and a couple of strings down, as they grow. Other cages have squash and pole beans, so far.
and I've been spinning, carding, plying, and sorting wools for Sauder stock, which gets packed and I leave on Friday--that yarn my fingers are in, is a two play spun from natural almost-black wool--
and here's today's carding--the yellow on top is onion skins and alum mordant, the peach is actually black walnut sans mordant, the brown is the second go-round with black walnut and alum mordant. It will all get carded for the Sauder gig, and I hope to get a little of it spun, too. Wednesday will be the last day for plying so time is running out fast. Peace.
The wool looks geat.. you do a wonderful job with things. Also really like the vegetable cages! Take care with the allergies.. I know what you mean. Woke up with red itchy eyes this morning, had to take a decongestant and promptly fell asleep for an hour! Could be worse, as you know. God Bless and enjoy the trip to Sauders!
