I once was a child who read odd books:

and I picked the fuzz off all my stuffed animals and blankets:

So, now I'm fifty, and not much has changed!

Shuffle Paper Shuffle Paper

Last two or three days have been all about paper.  Tomorrow, I seriously need to let my carpal tunnel rest up!  I got 23 pounds of homeschooling units all done, most of it with skateboarding tie-ins to Health Science, Drawing, and Math, some smaller units with map-reading and map-following for a 7-year old, it has exercises to look at coins for the mint marks and then locate them on a puzzle he puts together, driving tiny cars and skateboards on a map of his neighborhood I made for him, learning how to find out North with a pencil and string in his back yard.  I don't know why everyone doesn't home school, this stuff is just too too cool and fun--

and between that typing, and preparing for a three week drawing class I'm teaching up at Khristo's starting tonight, and working with someone on finding them a wheel and answering lots of spinning questions, ready to do something else with my hands for a couple of days!

Boo had triple squirrel-o-vision this morning but you can't have that photo because after I loaded it into the computer, it shows my back window needs, ahem, attention, so in all the bright sunshine today, add "windows" to my little to-do list.

My cup runneth over, was given a chance to share/give/divest myself of another sewing machine and a basket of goodies--I love having enough that I can get other people excited about crafting and start them out with some stash!  Peace.

 

 

All Neatened Up, Going Out With A Friend

So I have three big boxes packed for donation, and it's a pretty sunny crisp day, so Dawn said our usual Monday date, we're going to go over to the Plain City thrift store and drop them off.  Good errand, and then food place is next door.

So here's the nifty rack my hubbin hung for me in the kitchen, very handy for recipes and cookbooks and things I need all the time:

and it's been awhile since you got a Boo picture, here's his highness napping in the laundry room window.  I threw some dry cookies and brownies from the party outside there, but no bird-o-vision and Boo fell asleep waiting for them to appear:

I Have Treasures!

I see a lot of potential in this pile:

That's my new cool treasures from the Mt. Victory antique store, and I can go every month and get more.  There's some yarns to finish up for the fiber gallery, and paperwork, and a handful of lesson plans for a homeschooling mom, but by Thursday or Friday I'll have these washed and dried and starting to work on the sculpture pieces for the August show.  Am very excited to be working in woods and metals again.  Peace.

Loom is Sold

and it's going to a good home, with someone who is all excited about getting it working and making some projects.  She's on her way now to pick it up.

And my Networking party starts in 90 minutes.  I'm running out of things to clean.  So you KNOW I've been replaced with a Stepford Wife, LOL   Wait, there's one of Stasia's boxes she forgot, must run and hide that in the car.  Peace.

Done, and Not Done, on a Deadline

here's the corner of the studio, packed and swept and organized:

The cat sat in his milk dish and then was shocked to discover he had done so, so you don't see the dribbles of white milk I just cleaned up as he darted around the house . . .

and here's the un-done pile, that has to be pigeonholed somewhere before the party at 7 p.m. tomorrow night:

anybody want a loom for $125?  Pat brought it over for me to sell for her and it's been sitting here since Thanksgiving weekend.

My little reward for being stuck in the house all day getting this done, is Hubbin said we could order in Pizza tonight.  Got a feeling I'll eat that and simply fall over--with furniture to move, boxes to heft, many trips lugging stuff up the stairs, I'll be a tired gal by the time dinner rolls around!  Who needs to pay for a place to exercise?  get enough sweating and thigh work done just doing the housework.  Soon, I'll be working on sewing, and using up all this stash.  Peace.

You Wouldn't Think It Would Take Three Hours

to sit down and package up the seeds from friends, put them in new envelopes to go out into the world, figure out what else to order and fill in the Baker Creek seed order . . .

but all five little parcels have their handwritten notes and are ready to go to the post office.  Now I can clear up this mess!

Flat Earth is by Christine Garwood, and details (okay, too detailed) the growth and history of the idea that the earth is not flat, but a globe.  The introduction and chapter one were great.  From there on . . . well, the library is getting this one back today.  But I do strongly recommend the introduction and Chapter one!

Need to load up the crock pot with spaghetti sauce for tonight's dinner, to go with the garlic bread I baked yesterday--going to melt cheese on top of those and toast them in the oven as a side dish.  A light lunch of soup and crackers, a walk to the post office, paperwork the rest of the day.

Oh, Good News to share!  I've been accepted as a vendor for Penguicon, in Michigan in late April, to sell my geeky knitting kits and handspun yarns and handmade knitting needles, it will be a fun weekend.  Trying to talk hubbin into getting Monday off too, and staying at the Hotel Sterling in Monroe on Sunday night and visiting his Mum nearby, we'll see if work can spare him the extra day.  Is there anything that brightens a day more than having something to work towards up ahead around the bend?  Peace.
