Tomorrow's the big day for Good Husband, he starts his new job, then goes to his late night class, then drives home in a predicted ice storm. I am preparing him two outfits and packing him an overnight bag with one of them, and insisted he get a hotel if it's all slick out. Pizza delivery is his favorite food on earth so he won't be disappointed in his dinner, if that's the way life sorts itself out for him tomorrow night.
I did five nice thick skeins while a friend was here visiting yesterday, so here they are washed and hanging over the sink to dry:
and someone needs a prayer scarf, here it is about 1/4 or 1/5th done, I'll braid the ends to save them from wear and tear, and get it in the mail tomorrow:
and this is what I spent most of my computer time on today, I'm making a calendar of events and groups I want to get to know better in our new town, already found a knitting group, a spinning group, and a quilting group, and on the 18th there is a fish fry to go to with Husband when he finishes work, there's "cheesy potatoes" and cole slaw on the menu, so I'll have something veggie to eat and be social:
and after about 150 birds came and cleaned up every last crumb and worked on the two squash halves I put out in the back yard, and nibbled down the suet cakes, Boo was just exhausted and flopped over for a third nap. Sometimes you just gotta take it easy:
So now I am going downstairs and ironing two pairs of twill pants and two shirts and touching up a couple of ties, then I'm going to tape off a couple of pairs of his favorite stretchy socks so people at his new job will have as few clues as possible that he 1., lives with a fiber artist and 2., owns a white cat.
Onward and upward. Stopping at a knitting store tomorrow on the way to a friend's house and picking up two sets of circular needles for sock-making. I keep lusting after handknitted socks, it's a goal this year to learn to knit socks. Big bulky ones you wear over your socks, and trot around on cold floors, or wear with your rubber boots, socks that use my handspuns and don't match and make you smile. Peace.
