This is how pretty it looks when you put in a load of wash while doing breakfast, and then hang it on the line when husband takes off for work--already a nice breeze! Maybe I can also do a load of his stuff exploding dirty from the suitcase, he just got back from a few days of work in Texas, where he mostly sweated all day. Probably a little lemon juice in those loads to freshen them, aye?
and this is how nice my studio looked this morning, it might not look perfect to you but this is actually pretty perfect for me, a green apron ready to sew on the table with its pink straps, a bin ready to sew underneath the table and a basket of projects to finish on top--including the quilt to mail today to Melanie! Notice no curtains. I like the light. Notice no BooTheCat, he's upstairs begging hubbin for tiny pieces of sausage off his breakfast tray!
and here's a silly apron I made very early yesterday, I found a worn spongebob pillowcase at the thrift store and washed it with oxyclean and it became this apron front, with yellow printed with blue polkadots (wuzza sheet) for backing and ties and bib section. President Obama says Spongebob is is favorite cartoon. I don't have any kids to use as an excuse but I've been a spongebob fan for years. I can even sing the pineapple song by heart. Seriously.
Today is hide in the basement day. I am purging again, having a rummage sale next week here at the house, getting rid of everything from burlap bags to wood spools to fabric I can't use and have had for over five years, basket stuff, sculpture stuff, paper from crafting, all kinds of odds and ends. I strongly desire to have fewer things to manage, and more area downstairs to store what I do use and need. Looking forward to having some empty bins I can store extra kitchen and canning supplies into! And I'll make other crafters happy sharing some of my loot with them.
The Lord is also helping me find a good volunteer placement, have a new friend Donna and she is very involved in homeless issues and helping with food and clothing, and runs a sleeping bag project. She is talking with me and helping me discern where best to put my skills to help others in need.
Very glad to have husband back from Texas, I don't feel complete when he is away. Ah, love.
