Hey Hey Hey, Kate's knitted bag is finished. Or, kinda finished, because after she uses it for a couple of weeks, the handle will stretch out to its finished length, and she will have to tie a knot in it. This pic shows it with twenty items from my kitchen cupboards inside, it will as you can see, hold much more. The wide handle took a little while but it's important because no one wants those nasty narrow handles that cut into your shoulder while you are walking and shopping all day.
so off to Kate on the other side of the country, with some nice smelly goods from Kiss Your Face and some homemade cards, and I hope she enjoys shoving things into it! This used 1/2 cone of the cotton you see everwhere, Meijer's, WalMart, JoAnne fabrics. Plenty left over for more dish cloths! (The instructions are further back in the blog, scroll down).
I am feeling so much better since the parathyroid surgery only a week and a half ago. The only weird thing is my "female plumbing" is completely out of whack and unpredictable, and I have been both freezing cold and sweaty hot (each) about four times today, so the hormone level is getting back to what it was supposed to be but I was too sick to let it! So back to work finishing the little police pillows, only about 20 more to finish and can drop them off this week. And piecing a quilt from all scraps for Ibbie, who just found out after ten years of marriage that God is giving her a baby after all. Ibbie is Quaker Jane, who runs the best site on the internet for Plain Quakers, and provides this community service--and counseling--as her gift to others. Yay, Ibbie!
Val! I got your box of treasures the other night from Daryn's house and wow! Thank you so much. *hugs* I didn't know you had a blog and I didn't know you were going in for surgery, so I'm sorry I didn't call or send a card or care package or anything. :/ But now, here we are. And here's my public blog: http://katefruit.blogspot.com/ I'll keep in touch. Promise. :)
